Fourth of July Festivities, City Service Changes for St. Charles

There's no shortage of holiday festivities in St. Charles this weekend.

ST. CHARLES, IL - There's no shortage of holiday festivities in St. Charles this weekend, and local officials are encouraging residents to relish live music, food, fireworks and more.

The Pottawatomie Park party kicks off at 6 p.m. on July 4 when the band "Final Say" takes the stage to play everything from top 40 hits to classic dance music until dusk. Fireworks will follow.

"For a whole day filled with enjoyment, take a few swings at the Riverview Mini Golf course, or take a dip in the Swanson Pool!" officials said, in a community alert.

Meanwhile, residents should note the following upcoming schedule and service changes:

  • The city council meeting originally scheduled for Monday, July 3, has been rescheduled to Wednesday, July 5 at 7 p.m.
  • City offices will be open on Monday, July 3, and closed on Tuesday, July 4. There are no public meetings scheduled for July 4.
  • Regularly scheduled refuse pickup for residents west of the river will be pushed back one day to Wednesday, July 5.
  • There will be no change in refuse collection for residents east of the river, where pickup will be on Monday, as well.
