Fraudster Sentenced to 6 Years: Report

ST. CHARLES, IL — A St. Charles man who had been the president of an investment firm was sentenced to six years in prison for a fraud charge he pleaded guilty to eight years ago, the Daily Herald has reported.

Christopher Jansen, 64, was also ordered to pay $270,000 restitution, the paper said.

"In a plea agreement, Jansen admitted he created a shell company in 2001 to buy a Huntley-based trucking company and used revenue from the trucking company to borrow more money from the bank for personal use and to pay investors in other operations he oversaw," the Daily Herald said.
