Garbage Collection: New Rates Start Soon; Service Delay for Some During 4th of July

New residential refuse collection rates start on July 1, officials said Monday.

ST. CHARLES, IL – Local officials reminded residents Monday to expect new garbage fees come July.

Then updated refuse collection fees from Advanced Disposal officially go into effect on July 1. All previously purchased stickers will remain valid on or after that start date, officials said in a community alert, and residents can use their remaining vouchers until they are gone.

  • Refuse: $3.40 each
  • Yard Waste: $3.40 each
  • Half-Sized Refuse Bags: $2.21 eacg
  • 65-Gallon Yard Waste Toter: $29.81 per month
  • 35-Gallon Refuse Toter: $22.66 per month
  • 65-Gallon Refuse Toter: $23.85 per month
  • 95-Gallon Refuse Toter $25.04 per month
  • White Goods: $40.00 per item

Garbage containers not from Advanced Disposal cannot exceed 32 gallons or weigh no more than 50 pounds, according to the notice. Additionally, refuse and recycling containers should be poised for curbside pickup by 6 a.m.

Collection for residents living on the east side of the river will continue as usual — Monday, July 3 — in advance of the upcoming July 4 holiday. Pickup for those living on the west side of the river will be delayed until July 5 that week.
