Kane Co. Forest Preserve Hosts Native Plant Sale
The sale will be held on April 27 in St. Charles.

KANE COUNTY, IL — The Kane Forest Preserve Foundation will host a native plant sale next weekend.
The sale will run from 8 a.m. to noon on April 27 at Creek Bend Nature Center, 37W700 Dean St. in St. Charles. Patrons can browse a diverse selection of native plants, receive expert advice from knowledgeable staff, and immerse themselves in the beauty of native flora, according to a news release.
Native plants play a vital role in maintaining healthy ecosystems and supporting local wildlife. They provide essential nectar sources for pollinators such as bees, butterflies, moths, fireflies, and bats, while also serving as habitats for various mammals, forest preserve district officials said.

Also, native nuts, seeds, and fruits sustain the diverse array of wildlife found in our communities. By incorporating native plants into our landscapes, we can mitigate water runoff, improve air quality, and create vibrant, biodiverse habitats, according to the news release.
“We are thrilled to once again host the Kane Native Plant Sale, an event that connects individuals with the natural beauty of our region,” said Becky Gillam, chair of the Kane Forest Preserve Foundation. “We extend our gratitude to our generous sponsors, whose support enables us to continue supporting the mission of the Forest Preserve District of Kane County.”
