Kane Co. Sheriff's Office Issues 28 Tickets During Holiday Campaign

The traffic campaign ran from December 13 through January 2.

KANE COUNTY, IL — The Kane County Sheriff's Office has released the results from its holiday traffic campaign, which ran from December 13 through January 2.

The sheriff’s office teamed up with the Illinois Department of Transportation and law enforcement agencies statewide for the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, which targeted impaired drivers, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

During the traffic detail, authorities handed out 28 citations for seat belts, speeding, distracted driving and other traffic offenses, including:

  • 15 speeding citations
  • 7 other traffic citations
  • 3 driving without a license
  • 2 electronic device use citations
  • 1 seat belt citation
  • 13 warnings

The enforcement initiative, administered by IDOT and funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, is meant to keep roadways safe, particularly during high-risk times like the holidays.
