Kane County Board Delays Vote On Sales Tax Referendum

KANE COUNTY, IL — The Kane County Board has decided to push back a vote on a county sales tax referendum.
The board on Tuesday delayed the vote on a resolution calling for a 1% sales tax on general merchandise, which would be used for unspecified "public safety purposes," according to the Daily Herald.
Board members voted in favor of sending the proposed referendum back to the finance committee for a formal discussion on the matter, according to the article. The committee will consider the proposal on April 24.
