Kane County Sheriff's Deputy Indicted on Felony Drug Possession Charges

A local sheriff's deputy has been charged with possession, police said.

A Kane County sheriff's deputy was on paid leave Friday after being indicted earlier this week, according to reports.

Kimberly Zinke will remain on that suspension for at least six months after being accused of felony drug possession, reported The Chicago Tribune. The article does not specify the type of drugs, nor what led authorities to her home.

"The indictment stems from an allegation that an illegal substance was found in Zinke's (Woodstock) home in McHenry County, said Lake County Assistant State's Attorney Reginald Mathews," the story says. " ... Zinke worked in record keeping and the evidence unit, Kane County authorities said last year."
