Kitchen Fire Damages Moore Avenue Home
Damage to the home and its contents caused by the fire are estimated at $25,000, the St. Charles Fire Department reported.
ST. CHARLES, IL — The St. Charles Fire Department was called to a reported kitchen fire at a home in the 1900 block of Moore Avenue at 8:34 p.m. Monday. According to a news release from the fire department, firefighters arrived by 8:39 p.m. and found light smoke in the house, and a fire in the kitchen. One person inside the home made the 911 call and was able to get out before crews arrived, including members of other local fire departments, according to the release.
Within 10 minutes of arrival, firefighters confirmed the fire was put out, the release said. Crews then checked to make sure the fire didn't extend to any other parts of the home, and stayed on site until just before 10 p.m. to provide ventilation and complete the fire investigation.
No one was injured, and damages to the home and its contents caused by the fire are estimated at $25,000.
