Man Accused Of Driving Into Squad Car, Injuring Deputy Faces Charges

KANE COUNTY, IL — A 53-year-old man faces several charges for allegations he ran into the car of a Kane County Sheriff's Office detective.
Indalecio Munoz, of the 1100 block of Madison Boulevard in Marseilles, has been charged with commercial motor vehicle violations, aggravated reckless driving, commercial motor vehicle violations, improper lane usage and overweight on registration, according to a news release from the Kane County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities say Munoz was driving a commercial motor vehicle on Route 47 when it crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a vehicle behind drive by on-duty Kane County Sheriff's Office detective Brian Anderson. Anderson sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash.

An investigation revealed multiple commercial motor vehicle violations by the vehicle driven by Munoz, according to authorities. After a hearing on a petition to detain Munoz, a Kane County judge ordered him released from custody with the conditions that he not drive any motor vehicle, not consume alcohol, not consume any intoxicating compounds and that he not have any contact with Anderson.
He is next expected in court on March 7 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
