Meijer, ALDI: Christmas 2020 Grocery Store Hours In St. Charles

ST CHARLES, IL — Christmas is likely to look different this year as millions of Americans opt to stay home, marking the holiday with smaller celebrations amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Smaller celebrations, however, don’t necessarily mean we’ll bypass holiday traditions. And when it comes to Christmas dinner, a pandemic is certainly unlikely to stop us from forgetting that one key ingredient needed to make a perfect holiday meal.

Have no fear — there are some grocery stores that will be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for those emergency and last-minute shopping trips in St. Charles.

Here are the hours for grocery stores that will be open, along with a list of those that won’t:

Jewel-Osco: All locations close at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve; last home delivery/Drive Up and Go pickup 3 p.m. Closed Christmas Day.

ALDI: Stores will be open Christmas Eve, but hours will vary by location; closed on Christmas Day.

Costco: Most stores will be open limited hours Christmas Eve, and all stores will be closed Christmas Day. Call ahead to confirm hours with your local store.

• 221 S. Randall Road

CVS: Most locations are open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Christmas Day.

• 1500 Lincoln Highway

Meijer: Open 24 hours (regular hours)

• 855 S. Randall Road

The Fresh Market: Stores will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Christmas Eve. All stores are closed Christmas Day.

• Geneva Commons — 718 Commons Dr., Geneva

Fresh Thyme Market: Stores will be open until 6 p.m. Christmas Eve and closed Christmas Day.

• 2000 S. Randall Road, Geneva

Sam’s Club: Stores will be open until 6 p.m. Christmas Eve and closed Christmas Day.

• 1000 S. Randall Road, Elgin

Target: Most stores will close at 8 p.m. Christmas Eve. All stores are closed Christmas Day.

Thornton's: Open 24 hours (regular hours).

• 900 N. La Fox St., South Elgin

Trader Joe’s: All stores will close at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve. Stores are closed Christmas Day.

Walgreen’s: Selected locations are open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Christmas Day. Call ahead to confirm hours with your local store.
