St. Charles Man Hoped To 'Scare' People With 'Molotov Cocktails'
The St. Charles man told police he was angry about a drug deal and only wanted to frighten people at a Geneva home, reports said.
ST. CHARLES, IL — A St. Charles man accused of possessing "Molotov cocktails" faces felony explosives and property damage charges following a recent arrest. According to court records, 22-year-old Eric Eggers, of the 1800 block of Lucylle Court, will appear in court Friday, Nov. 1, nearly two weeks after several vehicles were damaged by a BB gun or air rifle on the 1200 block of Lencioni Court, Geneva, the Daily Herald reported. The news report said that according to an affidavit used to obtain a search warrant on Oct. 15 for Eggers' car and phone, police saw the man walking to a car near his address, and stopped him.
According to the affidavit, police told Eggers to drop an opened box he was carrying, containing what Eggers told officers was a "Molotov cocktail," or butane can device he was going to deliver to a Geneva home. Eggers told police he was angry about a drug deal and only wanted to frighten people at the home.
