St. Charles Man Killed In Crash With Parked Semi

MINOOKA, IL — A 48-year-old St. Charles man was killed in a crash on I-80, authorities said. Steven Shambora was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision, which occurred on westbound ramp to a rest area in southwest Grundy County, according to the Illinois State Police.

A preliminary investigation shows Shambora was driving a Toyota Camry that was heading west on the ramp to the Three Rivers Rest Area when it went off the roadway and hit a semi truck parked to the right of the shoulder of the ramp, according to police.

The collision happened at 9:45 a.m. Saturday. A visitation for Shambora will be on Thursday and a funeral has been set for Saturday.
