Teen Accused Of Beating Woman, 71: Police

KANE COUNTY, IL — A teen faces attempted murder and aggravated battery charges for allegations he punched, slapped and kicked a 71-year-old woman.
Koda Uebel, 18, of the 9000 block of Chicago Road in Waterman, was arrested at about 12 a.m. Saturday following a reported domestic disturbance in the 300 block of Lincoln Avenue in Big Rock Township, according to a news release from the Kane County Sheriff's Office.
When police arrived at the scene, they saw a man punching, slapping and kicking a woman, according to authorities. They also heard the man threaten to kill the woman.

Deputies forced their way into the home and intervened to make sure the woman was safe. At that time, the man attacked deputies and police used a Taser to gain control of the man, police said.
Despite being tased, the man, who was later identified as Uebel, remained combative and bit one of the deputies during the arrest and causing injury, according to authorities. Deputies were able to restrain Uebel and take him into custody.

The woman was transported to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital with serious injuries where she remains hospitalized in stable condition.
