Vernon Hills Park District Pumpkin Launch
Roll, launch and smash pumpkins at the Sled Hill at Century Park North.
Grab your gourds and head over to the Sled Hill to watch the rolling, launching, and smashing of pumpkins at the Vernon Hills Park District's Pumpkin Launch. The event takes place on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Century Park North, 1401 Indianwood Drive.
Jason Rush, from the Vernon Hills High School Science Department, built the Park District a trebuchet. Tickets to launch pumpkins are sold out, but there are many other activities for families to enjoy.
Bring your pumpkin and participate in the “pumpkin roll." Prizes will be available for children and adults. There will be camel and pony rides (additional fee) in addition to an inflatable pumpkin jump house. There will also be free hot cocoa for everyone.
