Burbank Man Arrested Twice for Drunken Driving in 14 Days

He was arrested twice in September on the same road after driving erratically, Riverside police say.

A Riverside police officer arrested a Burbank man twice in one month, both times for drunken driving on Harlem Avenue.

The officer stopped Angel L. Calleros, age 22 of the 7700 Block of South Austin Avenue in Burbank, on Sept. 5, after Calleros was seen crossing the center lane marker and was clocked speeding 48 mph in a 35 mph zone on Harlem, according to Riverside police.

Calleros refused field sobriety tests, and an open bottle of Jack Daniels and 1800 tequila were found in his car when he was arrested for DUI, police reported.

On Sept. 19, the same officer saw Calleros swerve toward his car and speed past a red traffic light, according to Riverside police. The officer reported Calleros also recklessly wove in and out of traffic, speeding 50 mph in a 30 mph zone.

The officer pulled Calleros over and immediately noted he had arrested him earlier this month. Calleros gave the officer the ticket for the previous DUI arrest in Riverside.

Calleros was asked to perform field sobriety tests, and he failed all six indicators. He was arrested and taken to the Riverside Police Department for processing. He was charged with DUI, two counts of improper lane use and speeding, police reported.
