• Western Springs Flooding Blamed On Blocked Drains In Part (patch.com) — Street flooding in Western Springs Thursday night is being linked to storm drains clogged by leaves and debris, combined with a sudden heavy downpour. Village crews and first responders were mobilized to clear water and assist neighborhoods, and officials say they’ll review storm and leaf-collection practices with nearby towns and residents to reduce future flooding risks.
