WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs police released their latest blotter. Here is information from the latest reports:

Car theft

  • A car was stolen overnight Dec. 16 in the 4200 block of Ellington Avenue. The car, which was recovered the next day, was unlocked with the keys inside.

Battery

  • A youth told police that he was punched in the chest by another youth Dec. 10 in the 4400 block of Wolf Road, which is downtown Western Springs.

Porch piracy

  • A package that was delivered Dec. 16 to a house in the 4000 block of Howard Avenue was stolen. It was valued at $150.

  • A resident in the 3900 block of Garden Avenue told police that she was defrauded out of $1,200 through a text message. The crime was reported Dec. 18.

Suspended license

  • An 80-year-old Bellwood man was cited about 11:30 a.m. Dec. 17 at Wolf Road and Ogden Avenue on charges of driving with a suspended license and driving with a suspended registration.
