• $1K Stolen From Car In Western Springs: Police (patch.com) — Residents in Western Springs are being alerted to several recent crimes, including a car burglary and a porch package theft, all tied to locations like the Mariano’s shopping center on Gilbert Avenue and Longmeadow Lane. Police say cash, credit cards, alcohol, and a small package were taken in separate incidents on Dec. 21, and they’ve released brief suspect and vehicle descriptions to help the community stay aware.
   

• Western Springs Woman Accused Of Violating Protection Order (patch.com) — Western Springs police report that a 59-year-old local woman was arrested at her Grand Avenue home on a charge of violating an order of protection and taken to Cook County Jail. In a separate case, officers arrested a La Grange man wanted on an assault warrant after finding him sleeping at the Western Springs train station, underscoring ongoing enforcement activity in town.
