A parade of various impressive-looking cars filled the lower parking lot of Spring Rock Park on Sunday afternoon for the Western Springs Police Department's 2012 Special Olympics fundraiser, a first-ever event. With classic rock blasting, volunteers sold food and raffle tickets to attendees who walked amid colorful vintage cars and stylish modern Corvettes with tricked-out interiors and hoods popped to show off their powerful guts. The variety of vehicles was remarkable. Up front, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was being raffled off—it is making the rounds to various Special Olympics Illinois fundraisers this year. (Oh, and there was a bouncy castle for the kids.) Patch swung by with a camera; check out our photos up above!
