Stop Sign Victim of Hit-and-Run

An unknown driver hit a village stop sign at the corner of 49th Street and Lawn Avenue with a car at approximately 11:55 p.m. and fled the scene. An estimated value of the damage was not given.

Firework Exploded in Porta-Potty

Someone used an “illegal firework device” to “intentionally destroy” a portable bathroom at a residential construction site on the 4000 block of Lawn Avenue around 10:45 p.m.; there were no direct witnesses to the explosion. No one was hurt and no other items were damaged.

Vandalism in Forest Hills, I

Police say that several “decorative accent lights” on the front lawn of a home on the 5500 block of Lawn Avenue were intentionally damaged sometime between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. The value amount of the damage was not estimated at the time of the report.

An unknown offender intentionally damaged a light post on the front lawn of a home on the 5100 block of Lawn Avenue sometime between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. The damage was estimated at $200. ()

Suspended License, No Insurance

Jose L. Gaspar, 38, of 811 N. 15th Ave., Melrose Park was arrested on the 600 block of Hillgrove Avenue and charged with driving with a suspended license and no insurance.
