Child Pornography Charges Filed Against Wheaton Man

WHEATON, IL — A Wheaton man faces felony charges after police say he was found to be in possession of child pornography and failed to properly register as a sex offender.

John Jacobson, 23, of the 1900 block of Lancaster Ln., was charged with six counts of child pornography and two counts of failing to regiaseter as a sex offender. He is currently being held in DuPage County Jail.

Police say they were led to Jacobson via an online tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a news release said. According to prosecutors, they found "multiple" instances of child pornography linked to the email. Jacobonson is further accused of failing to notify police of his social media and email information when he registered as a sex offender living in Wheaton.

Jacoboson is set to appear in court Nov. 17.
