Cop On A Rooftop 2022: Where To Find Officers In Wheaton

Friday's event at two local Dunkin' Donuts locations benefits Special Olympics athletes in Illinois.

WHEATON, IL — Officers from the Wheaton Police Department will be staking out the rooftop of two local Dunkin' Donuts locations Friday as part of the 19th annual Cop on a Rooftop event.

Money is being raised for the Law Enforcement Torch Run and will benefit Special Olympics Illinois.

Local officers can be spotted from 5 a.m. to noon atop Dunkin' Donuts at 956 E. Roosevelt Rd. and 2040 S. Naperville Rd. in Wheaton.

According to the event's website, the partnership between local law enforcement and Dunkin' has been a "huge success over the years" with more than $6.7 million raised in Illinois. Last year, $870,000 was raised for Special Olympics Illinois across 283 locations. Organizers are hoping to top $900,000 in 2022.

Each guest who makes a donation to the Torch Run will receive a coupon for a free donut. Guests who donate $10 or more will receive an LETR/ Dunkin’ branded travel mug (while supplies last) and a coupon for a free medium hot coffee.
