Coroner Jorgensen To Be Replaced By Lukas After Tight Race: Report

DUPAGE COUNTY — DuPage County Coroner Richard Jorgensen has lost his bid for re-election to Judith Lukas, Chicago Tribune reports.

The DuPage County Clerk's Office's unofficial vote totals are listed below, with 100 percent of precincts reporting.

  • Lukas: 216,901 (50.63 percent)
  • Jorgensen: 211,513 (49.37 percent)

Jorgensen was first elected as DuPage County Coroner in 2012, and has served three terms.

Lukas, a registered nurse, has been a lifelong resident of DuPage County, according to her campaign website. Among the causes outlined on her website are updating the county's forensic technology, saving money for taxpayers, and raising awareness around suicide and substance use disorder.
