WHEATON, IL — Police are investigating four crimes that took place at local stores, according to the city's most recent crime blotter. The crimes included two retail thefts at Jewel, a wallet theft at HomeGoods and a theft at Walgreens.

Retail Thefts at Jewel

Both of the retail thefts took place at the Jewel at 2031 N. Main St.

The first incident was reported around 12:30 p.m. on March 21. Police say two men came into the store, put items into two carts, and then exited the store without paying.

On April 4, a man came into the Jewel around 7:15 p.m. and stole "multiple liquor bottles," according to police.

Theft at Walgreens

Police were called to the Walgreens at 2020 S. Naperville Rd. on April 4 for a theft report. Employees said someone had cut the lock to the store's shed and stole storage bins. The incident took place sometime between 4 p.m. on April 3 and 1 p.m. on April 4.

Wallet Theft at HomeGoods

A shopper told police a man and a woman distracted her and stole her wallet while she was shopping at HomeGoods on April 5 around 3 p.m. She said the pair requested her help, which prompted her to leave her shopping cart. The woman told police she was later contacted by her bank about unauthorized charges, leading her to realize her wallet had been stolen.
