District 200 Students Place At Statewide Culinary Competition
Four students from District 200 were part of teams that placed in the Illinois ProStart Invitational in March.
WHEATON, IL — Four students from Community Unit District 200 were part of teams that earned first and second place at the 24th Annual Illinois ProStart Invitational in early March. Two of these students will make their way to Washington, D.C., in April to compete in the National ProStart Invitational (NPSI).
Wheaton Warrenville South students Ana G. and Isabella S. were part of the team that took first place in the event's culinary category. The team was tasked with creating a three-course meal and evaluated on flavor, safety and other elements of their work. As part of the winning team, Ana and Isabella will compete in the National ProStart Invitational, slated for April 26 through April 28.
The second-place Illinois team in the management category included James F. of Wheaton Warrenville South and Odalis F. of Wheaton North. This team concepted a restaurant, from its menu and design to its costs and marketing vision.

At the National ProStart Invitational, hundreds of students will compete for a chance to win scholarships to culinary and restaurant management schools.
