DuPage County To Break Ground On Crisis Recovery Center

The 33,000 square foot facility will offer crisis management for residents with substance use disorder and mental health issues.

WHEATON, IL — DuPage County is set to break ground on their new Crisis Recovery Center, which will offer help for residents experiencing substance use disorder and/or mental health crises. The groundbreaking ceremony is set for Monday at 10 a.m.

The DuPage County Board approved the $25.8 million project in June 2023. The 33,000 square foot facility will be built next to the Linda A. Kurzawa Community Center at 115 N. County Farm Rd.

The project is funded in part by $15.3 million from the American Rescue Plan Act and $5.5 million from the Rebuild Illinois Capital Plan. The DuPage County Health Department will provide the balance, along with a $1 million grant provided by Rep. Sean Casten.
