Dzugan To Retire As City Manager Of Wheaton
City Manager Michael Dzugan will retire after 33 years working with the City of Wheaton in different roles.

WHEATON, IL — Wheaton City Manager Michael Dzugan is set to retire next year after 33 years with the city. Dzugan got his start as the assistant city manager and served in that role for 25 years before becoming city manager in 2016.
“Mike has been a tremendous asset to this community, providing forward-thinking and steadfast leadership through some of the most turbulent times our nation has experienced in decades,” Wheaton Mayor Phil Suess shared in a statement. “He has worked diligently with the City Council to identify and prioritize strategic goals and keep our community in outstanding financial shape – even when faced with worldwide economic uncertainty. Mike Dzugan has done an exceptional job for the City of Wheaton and its residents.”
Dzugan has been instrumental in city projects that include the multi-million dollar downtown streetscape project.

Applications for a new city manager are being accepted, and Dzugan will take part in the selection process ahead of his anticipated mid-2025 retirement.
