Firefighter Sustains 'Minor Injury' Battling Blaze In Wheaton
The firefighter was battling a house fire that took place in the 600 block of Polo Drive Tuesday morning.
WHEATON, IL — A Wheaton firefighter sustained a "minor injury" while battling a blaze in the 600 block of Polo Drive Tuesday morning.
The fire broke out around 11:20 a.m., according to a news release from the City of Wheaton. When firefighters got to the scene, they found heavy smoke and fire showing from the attached garage of the home, along with the house's attic.
It took 30 minutes for fire crews to contain the flames. No civilians were home when the fire started, and the firefighter who was injured has been treated, the news release said.

The fire remains under investigation, as no cause was determined as of Tuesday afternoon.
