Watch: Redskins QB Kirk Cousins Speaks at Wheaton College

Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins paid a visit to Wheaton College earlier this April to address the college’s football team; you can watch some of his remarks above.

According to the official Redskins blog, Cousins’ grandmother lives in the Chicago suburbs, and he has been living with her while training during the offseason—including, his Twitter account indicates, at Schuldt Performance in Highland Park.

Cousins told the team that Wheaton College “is very, very special to me,” as two of his friends attended, and his grandmother had long hoped that he would play for the school—which, if not for the prospect of his now-realized NFL career, he said he would have.

“I wish I went here,” he told the team. “I was in Michigan State coming to visit Wheaton saying, okay, besides the football, you want to talk about the relationships, the character, the leadership—Wheaton’s where we want to be.”

Cousins, an outspoken Christian, talked proudly about his faith as well, praising the emphasis that the Wolfpack community places on loving and following Christ.
