Wheaton Police Investigating Possible Human Remains
Employees of the Wheaton Cemetery alerted police when they discovered bones and decayed remains Sept. 9.

Shortly before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020, the Wheaton Police Department responded to the Wheaton Cemetery, 1209 Warrenville Road, for the report of possible human remains being located outside of the burial plot area. Employees of the cemetery alerted police when they discovered bones and decayed remains.

Evidence technicians from the Wheaton Police Department processed the area overnight, and the DuPage County Coroner’s Office has taken custody of the remains for identification. Wheaton Police Department investigators and the DuPage County Metropolitan Emergency Response and Investigation Team (MERIT) continue to investigate the incident.
