Body Found Over The Weekend Identified As Missing Sandwich Woman

SANDWICH, IL—The search for a missing Sandwich woman is over as the Lasalle County Sheriff’s Office found her body in rural Sheridan over the weekend, officials said. At 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4, Lasalle County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded in reference to a person found dead in a pasture.

The Lasalle County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the identity of the deceased. A social media post shared over the weekend by a missing persons advocacy agency indicated the deceased is Linda Jackson, a missing Sandwich woman.

As of Friday, authorities said the search for Jackson was continuing.

Authorities have said Jackson’s car was found at 5:30 a.m. April 29 on North 4251st Road, northeast of Sheridan.

Officials said an autopsy conducted May 5 provided positive identification.

The incident remains under the investigation of the Lasalle County Sheriff’s Office and the Lasalle County Coroner's Office.

Officials said no foul play is suspected.

The Lasalle County Coroner's Office is awaiting autopsy results and toxicology reports.
