• Oswego East's Jacsen Tucker, one of state's top baseball prospects, helps spark bounce-back win over Yorkville (shawlocal.com) — Yorkville High School’s boys basketball team fell 57-37 on the road at Oswego East, where standout two-sport athlete Jacsen Tucker powered the Wolves with 16 points and 10 rebounds. The Foxes battled injuries and illness, with key players sidelined or limited, and one costly second-quarter stretch turned a close Southwest Prairie Conference game into a decisive loss.
   

• Gordon 'Gordy' Dale Beach (rivernewsonline.com) — Yorkville residents are remembering Gordon “Gordy” Beach, a longtime community member who raised his family here and will have a celebration of life in Yorkville in spring 2026. The 78-year-old Vietnam veteran later moved to northern Wisconsin to be near family, and his loved ones are inviting friends to share condolences online as they plan his interment and local remembrance.
