Body Found In Search For Missing Teen: Yorkville Police
Aiyana Williams went missing Monday night. Police are asking residents to avoid the area of the Country Hills subdivision.
YORKVILLE, IL — Yorkville police on Sunday announced that a body has been found in connection with the search for missing 16-year-old Aiyana Williams.
Williams went missing from the Country Hills subdivision, off Route 71, on Monday night, and was last seen in the area of Fawn Ridge Court, police previously said.
Officers conducting a foot patrol and drone search found her body "in the area of concern" during the early morning hours on Sunday, according to a Yorkville police news release.

"At this time, investigators are working diligently to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic discovery," police said around 6 a.m. "The public is respectfully asked to avoid the area of the Country Hills subdivision and allow investigators the space necessary to preserve the integrity of the scene."
Police conducted a nearly weeklong search, coordinating with mounted search and rescue teams, members of the Illinois Search and Rescue Council, and several police agencies who provided K-9 tracking and the use of drones to scan the area, including bodies of water, officials said.
