• Kendall County Board met Nov. 18 (kendallcountytimes.com) — Kendall County Board members met at the Historic Courthouse in Yorkville to approve the 2025 property tax levy and a series of specific fund levies that will appear on 2026 tax bills. They also adopted a long-range transportation plan, renewed major insurance contracts, and approved several ordinances and resolutions that shape county services, from health and veterans assistance to liquor licensing and broadband.
   

• Ottawa gets No. 5 seed, Streator No. 6 in 62nd Plano Christmas Classic (shawlocal.com) — Yorkville-area hoops fans can follow Yorkville Christian as the No. 2 seed in the 62nd Plano Christmas Classic, which runs Dec. 26-30 at Plano High School. The bracket also features Ottawa, Streator, Kaneland, Marmion and other regional teams, with first-round games set throughout Dec. 26 and the title game on Dec. 30.
