Dog Kills Another Dog In Yorkville, Owner Cited

The pit bull/Lab mix reportedly escaped its yard and attacked a Yorkshire terrier.

YORKVILLE, IL — A Yorkville woman was cited last week after her dog escaped from her backyard and fatally attacked a smaller dog, police said.

The larger dog — a pit bull/Labrador mix, according to WSPY — escaped from the yard around 4:40 p.m. Wednesday and attacked a Yorkshire terrier.

The smaller dog died of its injuries, according to a police report. No people were injured in the incident.

Dog owner Yeilyn L. Blanco Pinango, 43, of the 2300 block of Emerald Lane, was cited for having a dog running at large and having a dangerous/vicious domestic animal, police said.

Pinango's dog was evaluated at a veterinary hospital and euthanized, Kendall County Now reported.
