Man Charged With Robbing Yorkville Target
Police say Javier Perea-Hernandez was taken into custody without incident on Tuesday.

YORKVILLE, IL — Police in Yorkville say they have arrested 21-year-old Javier Perea-Hernandez after a joint investigation with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, Kendall County Sheriff's Office and several local law enforcement agencies. Perea-Hernandez has been charged robbery, felony retail theft and two counts of aggravated battery after prosecutors with the Kendall County State's Attorney's Office say he robbed the Yorkville Target on Jan. 26.
Police said they believe Perea-Hernandez also shoplifted from stores in Batavia and North Aurora last month. At least one of the counts of battery against him was for assaulting a police officer, according to charging documents.
Police say Perea-Hernandez was taken into custody without incident on Tuesday. He is being held at the Kendall County Public Safety Center with bond set at $7,500.
