Man Rear-Ends School Bus, Injures Bus Company Employee: Cops
A 26-year-old Yorkville man faces charges after the Thursday morning incident.

YORKVILLE, IL — Yorkville police and school district officials are reminding residents of the importance of driving cautiously around school buses after a 26-year-old man was arrested Thursday after rear-ending a bus.
Police said officers responded to the crash at 7:19 a.m. after a Dodge Dart driven by Ivan Nevarez-Corral hit the school bus while heading west on Route 34 at Beecher Road.

The four Yorkville Community Unit School District 115 students on the bus were unhurt, but one of the two Septran Bus Company employees who were also on the bus reported minor injuries. The employee was taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution, police said.
Nevarez-Corral, of the 500 block of Cheshire Court, was issued citations for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving on a suspended license and driving an uninsured vehicle. He was taken into custody and transported to the Kendall County Jail, police said.

"Now that the school year has begun, all drivers are asked to help keep our community's children safe by following all laws, including speed limits, no cell phone usage and bus stop arm procedures," police said.
