• Yorkville police seek social worker to field increasing mental health, domestic and juvenile cases (shawlocal.com) — Yorkville police and Kendall County officials are weighing a new full-time social worker who would focus on mental health, domestic disputes, homelessness and juvenile cases, sharing an estimated $130,000 annual cost. The position, discussed at a city public safety meeting, would expand on an existing part-time program, support crisis follow-up, and respond to resident concerns about how the city handles vulnerable people, including those experiencing homelessness.

• Bolingbrook defeats Plainfield Central in boys basketball: The Herald-News Tuesday Roundup (shawlocal.com) — Yorkville High School teams had a strong night, with the boys edging Plainfield East 64-60 and the girls cruising to a 56-21 road win over the same school. A broader area roundup also highlights results for nearby schools, but Yorkville fans will especially note the close boys finish and dominant girls performance.

• Oswegoland Park District names new executive director (shawlocal.com) — A longtime Oswegoland Park District staffer, Chad Feldotto, has been promoted to executive director, following the resignation of his predecessor after criminal charges tied to an incident investigated by Yorkville police.
