OSWEGO, IL — A call reporting a domestic incident Wednesday afternoon at an Oswego residence resulted in an Oswego man being issued two charges after he failed to cooperate with police, officials said.

Oswego officers were dispatched at about 3:30 p.m. to a residence in the 700 block of Spires Drive after a woman called to report an incident. When police arrived, they heard screaming coming from the garage, according to a news release.

Police say officers made contact with a man, identified as the 38-year-old Lawrence Bradley, who was initially cooperative but later slammed the front door closed and refused to let officers speak to the woman or let her leave the residence. Officials said officers then heard more screaming.

Law enforcement officers breached the front door "due to exigent circumstances" and took Bradley into custody, officials said. The man, whose address is the same as where the incident occurred, was charged with one count of unlawful restraint, a felony, and misdemeanor obstructing a peace officer.

Police from neighboring agencies responded to help Oswego officers, resulting in a large police presence in the neighborhood, officials said.
