Vets Apply Now: Operation Homefront Offers House In Yorkville
The program is meant to help a veteran and their family get on the right track through multiple layers of support.

YORKVILLE, IL β An Illinois veteran and their family are about to get a fresh start, as Operation Homefront announced that they're taking applications for a newly built transition house in Yorkville. The chosen vet and their family will get to live in a nearly 2,500 square-foot two-story home while going through Homefront's program, Kendall County Now reported.
Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit with the mission of helping military families stabilize themselves. Their Transitional Homes for Community Reintigration program focuses on helping vets who've been honorably discharged in the past 12 months, according to the KCN report.
In the program, the family works with a case worker and a financial counselor to create goals for the their finances, employment, education and personal goals. The program lasts two to three years, KCN reports.

The family will get help improving credit, paying off debt, learn about real estate buying and build community ties.
The new home in Yorkville has four bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms and an open design in its 2,458 square feet.

The veteran who is accepted into the program must pay a monthly fee which will be refunded at the end of the program. Self sufficiency is the goal, the KCN report says.
