Yorkville Fugitive Apprehended In Colorado
Paul Hallenbeck is accused of burglarizing the home of an "associate" and being a felon in possession of guns.
YORKVILLE, IL — A man recently featured as the Kendall County Sheriff's Office's "Fugitive Friday" pick was apprehended in Colorado in connection with a Jan. 8 burglary in Yorkville, according to police. Yorkville police said Paul W. Hallenbeck, 43, is an "associate" of the owner of the burglarized home on Canyon Trail, and was identified by police as a suspect in the crime.
Just eight days after the burglary, Hallenbeck was arrested by Colorado State Police and found to be in possession of proceeds from the Yorkville burglary.
On May 7, with assistance from the Colorado State Police and the Kendall County State's Attorney's Office, Yorkville police were able to secure an arrest warrant for Hallenbeck on charges of residential burglary, two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a stolen firearm. On May 17, the Kendall County Sheriff's Office featured Hallenbeck in a Fugitive Friday post.

On Wednesday, Hallenbeck was taken into custody at the Kendall County Courthouse by members of the Kendall County Sheriff's Office.
He is currently being held at the Kendall County jail on $100,000 bond. Kendall County jail booking records do not list an address for Hallenbeck. He was due in court Thursday as well as June 11, according to jail records.

In addition to the Kendall County charges, Hallenbeck was also wanted on an out-of-state warrant, jail records show.
