Yorkville Garden Club Dates Set for 2013 Garden Walk

The Yorkville Garden Club’s biennial Garden Walk will be held on Saturday, June 22. Five inviting Yorkville gardens will be open for viewing.

The Garden Walk will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. rain or shine on Saturday, June 22. Tickets are $10 each before the day of the walk and $12 the day of the walk. Tickets are available now through the Garden Club’s Website: www.yorkvillegardenclub.org.

This year the “Garden Junction Boutique” will feature gifts for purchase at several homes on the Walk. Select from affordable chic aprons for children, stepping stones, and one-of-a-kind hummingbird feeders. These items can be purchased with cash or check only, please.

Beginning May 1, tickets for the Garden Walk may be purchased at the following:

The Yorkville Garden Club was founded in February 1995 by a group of friends who shared a love of flowers and gardening. Members continue that love of flowers and gardening and strive to make a difference in the community.

At the present time, the Yorkville Garden Club offers two annual scholarships, and the scholarship fund is supported solely through the Garden Walk held every two years. The Garden Club provides a monthly newsletter for members, enriching and informative programs, camaraderie with fellow garden enthusiasts, and the satisfaction of volunteering in the community.

The club meets on the first Thursday of every month February through November. Monthly meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. at 215 Hillcrest Ave., Yorkville, IL. Prospective members are welcome at any meeting and are eligible to join our club at an annual membership fee of $20.
