Yorkville Man Arrested With Cocaine And Alcohol After Crash: Sheriff's Department

The 21-year-old was charged with driving under the influence

Joseph E. Brown was arrested after a traffic accident on Wednesday night, according to a Sheriff's Department press release.

A deputy responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Galena Road and Eldamain Road. No injuries were reported from the accident

Brown, a 21-year-old from Yorkville, was arrested for driving under the influence. He was also charged with illegal transportation of alcohol, illegal lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.

A search following the arrest revealed a white powder that Brown possessed on his person. A field test of the powder indicated that is was cocaine. Brown was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and booked at the Kendall County Jail.

A charge is merely an accusation of a crime, not a finding of guilt.
