Yorkville Winter Weather: Parking Restrictions, Snow Plowing

In Yorkville, parking restrictions go into place after two inches of snow has fallen.

YORKVILLE, IL — With the possibility of a winter storm incoming Monday night, the Village of Yorkville is reminding residents of snow parking restrictions.

A strong storm system is expected to bring wet accumulation of between 2 to 5 inches, Patch reported. One round of snowfall is expected Monday night through early Tuesday, followed by a second round Tuesday afternoon.

The National Weather Service predicted peak snowfall rates between 8 p.m. Monday night to 1 a.m. Tuesday and again late Tuesday morning through mid-afternoon. The entire Chicago area is under a winter weather advisory from 8 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday, according to the weather service.

In Yorkville, parking restrictions go into place after two inches of snow has fallen. The ban will remain in place until 24 hours after the snow has stopped.

Residents who fail to comply with the ordinance could get a citation or have their cars towed.

"By doing your part, you will help the Public Works Department have time and space to clear the roadways and allow for safer travel," officials said.
