Carmel Man Posts Video Burning Colts Season Tickets Following NFL Protests
The reasons a Carmel man gives for burning what many NFL fans would consider too valuable to lose.

CARMEL, IN — While many NFL fans are voicing their sides of frustration following this weekend's league-wide protests during the national anthem, Carmel resident Rodney Heard is lighting a different kind of flame — literally. Heard posted a video to his Facebook page Monday morning, just hours after the Colts defeated the Browns. "I support the flag and am so grateful for the people that gave their lives for it!!!!," Heard posted.
Heard's Facebook video has been viewed more than 117,000 times, shared nearly 3,000 times and has received tons of reactions and commentary.
In it, you can hear the frustration and dismay in Heard's voice as he said he served in the Marine Corps, is a Colts season ticket holder, and has always loved the NFL.

But now, instead of selling his tickets or giving them to someone else, Heard said he's making his "own sacrifice," and getting rid of the season tickets, as he tosses them into the flames.

"There's a lot of people that fought and died for that flag, and to disrespect it yesterday like you did, I'm done," Heard said in the video.
Heard said there's been overwhelming support following his video.
"I want the NFL to know that it does offend a majority of Americans that love this country," Heard said in a statement to Patch.
