Carmel, IN - On Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at approximately 5:22 a.m., Noblesville Police Department officers responded to 698 S 5th St. (Noblesville) on an unknown call for police. Officers arrived a short time later but were unable to make contact with anyone at the residence. Moments later, officers heard yelling from the west and went to continue to investigate. At the scene, the officers encountered a male and a female subject. During the encounter, the male subject was shot by a Noblesville Police Officer. Immediately after he was shot, the officers on scene began rendering aid until medics from the Noblesville Fire Department arrived and transported him to an area hospital.
The male subject has been identified as 41-year-old Karmen Parrish of an unknown address. Parrish is currently in stable condition. Carmel Police Investigators will be handling the investigation into the officer involved shooting in order to ensure impartiality. This is an ongoing investigation and no additional information is available for release at this time.
