- Purdue Extension has been chosen to assist rural, tribal, and underserved communities in accessing federal funding for energy and environmental improvements. Purdue Extension's Community Development program will provide central support in Indiana, aiding communities in grant applications, partner identification, project design, and more. The initiative aims to foster clean energy, affordable housing, and environmental justice goals within marginalized communities and will run for five years as part of the Biden administration's Justice40 Initiative. - The City of Lafayette and the Lafayette Police Department celebrated the completion of the Public Safety Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 24. While the center is not fully operational yet, the LPD is offering guided tours every Wednesday in June and July, showcasing locations such as the Community Room, Amenity Deck, ARC, Dispatch, and Roll Call. Registration is required for the tours, with a maximum capacity of 15 participants per tour. (City of Lafayette via Facebook)
- The Lafayette Aviators took home a win at Wednesday's opening day game at Loeb Stadium against the Chillicothe Paints. The Aviators ended the game with an 8-7 walk-off win after heading into the 10 inning with a tied score of 6-6. (WLFI)

- Through Tuesday, Aug. 1, the intersection of 4th Street and Teal Road will be closed. During this time, residents can take the detour of Kossuth, to 9th, to Beck, and back to US25 to Teal. (City of Lafayette via Facebook)
- Have you noticed the Columbian Park animal statues getting more colorful? A few members of the Columbian Park Zoo staff have been helping spruce up the statues over the past few weeks.
