- The annual downtown Bistro 501 Lobster Bake will take place today (Jun. 14) after being postponed due to weather. A portion of 5th Street will be closed in the evening for the event. (WLFI 18)
- The Women of the Green Industry will hold two meetings in June and July, offering professional development and networking opportunities for both women and men. The virtual meeting on Jun. 20 will feature Beth Berry, an expert in turf and landscaping, discussing the green industry as a path for female entrepreneurs. The in-person meeting on Jul. 18, following Purdue University's Turf and Landscape Field Day, will include a tour led by Kyle Daniel, focusing on departmental facilities. - Marshawn Boles, a 24-year-old man, has been convicted and sentenced to seven years in the Department of Correction for firing shots into the residence of a Lafayette man following an altercation involving paraphernalia. Boles pleaded guilty to criminal recklessness and has a history of similar offenses. In a separate incident in December 2022, he discharged a firearm into another residence on North 10th Street with the alleged intention of trading a radio for methamphetamine, as reported by authorities.
