• River Bend Food Bank receives $25K donation from Chicago Bears' charity (kwqc.com) — River Bend Food Bank in Davenport just received a $25,000 gift from the Chicago Bears’ Bears Care charity, which the Quad Cities Community Foundation’s Hunger Relief Fund immediately matched to $50,000. That boost will help provide about 250,000 meals across the 23 counties River Bend serves. Local leaders say the match shows strong community commitment to fighting hunger here at home. 
• Mariannette Miller-Meeks changes voter registration back to Ottumwa (1630kcjj.com) — A sitting Iowa congresswoman who once rented a Davenport apartment to stay registered in the 1st District has now shifted her voter registration back to her Ottumwa home. The move, recorded in July, follows redistricting changes and a stated desire to live with her husband on their Wapello County property.
