• Quad-City Times Bix 7 announces 2026 race week schedule, registration opening Dec. 15 (wqad.com) — Registration opens today for the 2026 Quad-City Times Bix 7, bringing a full week of running events to downtown Davenport ahead of the July 25 main race. From senior and kids’ runs to the Brady Street Sprints and Prairie Farms Quick Bix, organizers say the long-standing tradition will again turn Davenport’s streets into a community-wide celebration.
• Police: Davenport man stole over $35K in tools, construction equipment (kcrg.com) — Davenport police say a local man is facing felony charges after more than $35,000 in tools and construction equipment were reportedly taken from River City Cutting/River City Metal Works on Rockingham Road. Investigators cite surveillance video and social media identifications, and a preliminary court hearing is set for Dec. 23 as two additional suspects remain unidentified.
